First Broadcast-Station was founded 1927 as „Radio 1“. Start of Radio Bayrak International was in 1966. Diverse English programming, occasional shows in Greek and Arabic, News in English, Greek, Turkish, Russian, French, and Arabic. Later 1997 Start of Bayrak FM with mostly turkish music and in the same year Bayrak-News-Radio with News and Turkish Culture. Earlier Start in 1963: Bayrak Radyosu only on FM. In change of the former oldest station now „Radio 1“ emits since 1974 the public broadcasts of TRT Turkey. The same with the FM-frequency of „Radio 2“, only Relay of TRT. In addition are some private financed broadcasting stations on FM (like Radio Vatan).
